Washington Post forced to correct story on Trump

In one of the worst cases of journalistic malpractice in several years, the Washington Post has been forced to print a correction to its’ story misquoting former President Trump in his call with Georgia’s top elections investigator, Frances Watson. The Post initially reported Trump had told Watson, an official working in Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office, to “find the fraud” in the state, which he lost narrowly to Joe Biden, and that she would be a “national hero” if she did. (This article was released just prior to the Georgia Senate run-offs and was later quoted in the impeachment documents.) However, a recording discovered in response to a freedom of information request revealed that the anonymous source had grossly misquoted the President. (The recording was recently discovered in a laptop “trash” folder.)

Spending on Steroids in COVID Relief Bill

Joe Biden is set to sign what the White House has declared “the most progressive bill in history”, the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package passed by the House on Wednesday. This is a jolt of federal spending unprecedented in size and scope. The bill is almost three times more expensive than the massive stimulus package Congress approved shortly after former President Obama took office and comes on top of nearly $4 trillion in coronavirus rescue spending from Washington last year.
