Rebuilding America – A Lesson from the Pages of Jewish History
In 606 BC, the Israelites went into exile in Babylonia as a drifting and confused people. They spent 70 agonizing years in solitude, and in physical and mental torment. In 538 BC, they began returning to Israel a sobered people. They were home, refocused in their PURPOSE as a NATION, ready to begin again the worship of Jehovah, the God of creation and the God is Israel. Most of the Jews at this time had never seen or heard the Law of Moses. They had to be instructed, in large part by Ezra, in a national reeducation program. America would do well to follow this example. We must remember who we are as a nation. Revisit our purpose and founding. Restore our commitment to godly principles and our Christian-Judeo heritage.
